In the shadows of Mt. Chimney, Julia tip-toed through the grass, looking for wild Pokémon. Specifically, she wanted to add a Fire-type to her team to help with Ranger work. She wasn't keen on going through Fiery Path or scaling Mt. Chimney itself—maybe one day—so she was sticking to the grass outside for now. But that was fine; she was sure there'd be some good Fire-types wandering around here. All she had to do was look!

Julia turned to the sound of rustling coming from a nearby tree. Out of the branches poked the head of a Pansear, which looked around until it locked eyes with Julia. The two looked at each other for a few seconds before Julia smiled at it. "Heya," she said.

[break][break]The Pansear chittered and waved with a smile of his own. He retreated back into the tree, which rustled again for a few seconds before he hopped down and landed on his feet, an Oran Berry in his hand. He blew a gentle flame under it until it was nice and roasted, then walked over to Julia and held it out to her.

[break][break]"Oh, thank you!" Julia exclaimed before taking the berry. It was still pretty warm, so she blew on it before popping it in her mouth. "Mm, that's good!" The Pansear clapped and chittered excitedly, happy that his gift had been received so well.

[break][break]"Hey, you wanna come with me?" Julia asked. "I've been looking for a Fire-type friend, and I think we'd get along great. What do you say?" She fished a Poké Ball from her pack and showed it to the Pansear, who tilted his head as he thought on Julia's offer...
